Madison this summer......

Madison had a great summer. If nothing else... she had fun. Her Aunt Cindy is going through beauty school, and Madi has turned into her project.
First it was "Mom, I have to have a pink stripe in my hair" So Madi and her friend Ashlyn got pink stripes......

So that was all "awesome Mom!" Then we got the pool and well the pink left.... *giggle*
Then it was "Mom, I want curly hair"

At any rate, she has had her hair done, manicures, and pedicures this summer.... LOL And REALLY loves her Aunt Cindy!

Hummingbirds!!

This summer I got the chance to go see hummingbirds get tagged and learned alot about them. I also got to hold one and release it back into the wild. I adopted my little feathered friend... who was caught again 3 days later... LOL They are the neatest lil birds..... None of the birds were hurt in any way. After they were tagged, the one who adopted that particular bird was given it and told to walk out by the trees and to slowly open your hand to release it. Mine stayed put for quite awhile.... I even got to pet it. Then he flew off happily:)

Well I am back!!!!

Hello everyone!!
I know that I have been very dormant for a long time. However I am back and starting to craft like crazy.... LOL
Halloween is on it's way... and that means time for me to dust off the yarn totes and break out the hooks.

Hello everyone....

Well I have been stitching, but it is going very slowly......
Friday I had neck surgery. they took a disc out of c5 &c6 in my neck. Did a bone graph and put a plate in my neck. I am moving, but very slowly. Not as much pain as I had thought but still very uncomfortable. I did get 2 afghans finished before surgery but have to wait to get some pictures. I can't lift anything over 5 pounds. I just wanted to let everyone know thatI am doing ok, just moving very slow........

What I have been up to...

Well, it has been awhile since I have posted to my blog and figured that I had better get caught up. I have been down alot with my neck issues. I have been going to therapy twice a week and see the neuro-surgeon the 2nd of Feb. I hope he has good news.....

So my crafting has slowed way down.... however.....
I have been working on lots of afghans. They take a long time, but I am loving the results!!
Here is a Pride Afghan that I made for a friend of mine, I forgot to take pictures so he did for me. I am really into those mile-a-minute afghans at the moment... or actually anything that I can do in strips.

Well needless to say Madi was watching the progress of Terry's afghan and decided she wanted one. So I made her a smaller one in super bright colors. They do not show up well in the pics, but it is bright!!!! She wanted it so bad she would not let me hide my ends!!! She claims she wants it just the way it is... LOL the mind of a 7 year old.... gotta love her~

My friend Lissa got me yarn to make her an afghan and well after several patterns and frogging it over and over.... whala!!!! And afghan in a bag!!!!
Here it is in the bag:

Here a couple of different views...it is alot prettier than in the picture!!

then the cold spell hit..... minus 25 degrees.... ya know after awhile, cold is just plain cold!!!
So I got busy and Madison a new winter set. Hat, scarf, and mittens!! I was so thrilled when I actually made mittens!!!! The scarf is reversable. Again the yarn is a really bright variegated that actually matches her coat!

I have made quite a few other things but they were gifts and not thinking I forgot to get pictures......
I hope everyone is staying warm and enjoying their crafts this winter from hell......
